John : See the 2nd picture. If the signal from transmitter 1 and 2 enter a frequency mixer. 2 signal will "Try their best" to mix together. 

Me: Ok.

John: However,  if the signal of transmitter 1 and 2 are orthogonalized, 2 signal "try their best" to seperate. 

Me: Ok.

John: See the 2nd picture.  If 2 signal mix together,  it create a clock line of a single Up cycle.  If 2 signal orthogonalized,  it create a clock line of Up, down and Up cycle.
